IT’S RED NOSE DAY – MAY 21, 2015 – BRINGING AWARENESS TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD HUNGER!
I went out to lunch, wearing my RED FOAM, CLOWN NOSE. Upon exiting a sandwhich eatery, I encountered 2 guys and a girl in about their teens. I announced from behind them: ‘IT’S RED NOSE DAY!’
They turned around, with the one guy calling out, smiling: ‘SEE THAT! I WAS RIGHT! YOU GUYS THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY!’ The other guy smiled and held up his hand, open-palmed asking for a HIGH FIVE! I obliged, saying: “I CALL IT A HA HA HIGH FIVE!’
I then offered them each one of my: *SMILE! YOU’RE GREAT! mini-mirror on a popsicle sticks. I invited them to look into the mirror to FIND THEIR SMILE if they are every having a bad day; or going through a tough time. I let them know it is a VERY POWERFUL OUTLOOK SHIFT TOOL! I told them: ‘IT MAY LOOK SILLY! BUT, TRUST ME!’
They LOVED the gifts. As the one guy got into the car with his friend, he announced: “SHE MADE MY DAY!”
As I heard his comment, as HUGE SMILE formed on my face, in my heart and in my soul. THEY MADE MY DAY!
HUNGER doesn’t just come from not getting food. Children, People, Animals HUNGER for recognition, being valued, and knowing their self-WORTH!
