Here’s a great example to ‘keep on, keeping on’. To keep moving forward, no matter how far down in the trenches you feel you’ve fallen. To look to the next moment, when you feel your good efforts aren’t being recognized!
I place *SMILE! YOU’RE GREAT! OUTLOOK SHIFT ENGINEERING tools around town: on business/restaurant bulletin boards; as well as hand them to people directly. I glue a 1/2 round mirror on the end of a popsicle-craft stick. I write the positive message of worth and acknowledgement on the front. I note my LAFOLOT.com website on the back.
MY PURPOSE? To MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY! To help someone look into the mirror and FIND THEIR SMILE! To help a person look into the mirror, to find that place of GRATITUDE in a time of stress, depression, frustration or despair. A way to ‘turn the other cheek’ for a PHresh View! A PHresh Outlook!
I was feeling down when I went to one of the locations where I had just placed the 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock poster containing a pocket for the Outlook Shift Tools. It notes the Healthy Socialization SMILE GAME rules; and the magnificence of non-invasive SMILE POWER!
I saw that the item had been removed. All the Smile Stick’s with the mirrors had been tossed out by the manager. I was not angry. I realized my intention had been misunderstood. I talked to the manager on duty to let her know that it was ‘not for profit’ intended. Nonetheless, I felt down. I felt deflated. I pay for the supplies with my own money. I have a strong intention of helping others; having been through many family crises myself. I feel it’s a small effort with a POWERFUL RESULT to the positive!
TODAY! I stopped at another location for the same coffee shop/restaurant to see if my poster had been removed. I was THRILLED when I saw that NOT ONLY was it still there; MANY of the TOOLS had been taken by customers! My intention was to talk to the manager, to let them know my intention to help others. Before I could do that, I encountered two smiling ladies getting ready to exit the establishment.
I told them about my intention, my plan – and my frustration – but not being angry – because I HAD NOT talked to the management at the other location before putting it on the board. The two women were ALL SMILES! They both wanted to take one. One woman wanted to give one to her friend, so I gave her another.
The one woman noted: PRAISE THE LORD! She made me smile and laugh, because my mom used to say that. She then said: WOW! YOU ARE A PIONEER! I responded; and I’m also HUNGARIAN! We both laughed.
HOW AMAZING! From the evening before to the afternoon of the next day, things had turned around 360 degrees in a NEW, PHresh VIEW!
When I got to talk to the manager, he was a super soul! He said he had noticed it, and had decided to keep it on the board. He also IMMEDIATELY E-MAILED his fellow managers at OTHERS STORES to alert them to not remove it if they had it on their store bulletin board! WHAT A SUPER SOUL! I offered him a *SMILE! YOU’RE GREAT! outlook shift tool for himself; as well as to share with his staff. HE, AS WELL AS HIS STAFF – SMILED BRIGHTLY!
Having a bad day or bad moment? Give it TIME for a PHresh Outlook!
